Instituto Bernabeu will participate in the SEF congress with 16 oral communications and 13 presentations in poster format.
  • Dr Andrea Bernabeu will moderate a round table and participate as a speaker during the Congress.
  • Dr Jorge Ten will give a lecture on the sperm selection plate developed by Instituto Bernabeu, which received the innovation award at ASEBIR 2023.
  • Dr Belén Lledó will give a lecture on the empty follicle syndrome
  • Dr Rosa María Daurelio, from Instituto Bernabeu Madrid, will participate as a speaker in a round table on ovarian stimulation.

The Spanish Fertility Society (SEF in Spanish) will hold the 34th edition of its biannual congress from 23 to 25 May in A Coruña. Instituto Bernabeu will attend this event with 29 selected presentations, which reaffirms the group’s commitment to research, innovation and excellence in reproductive medicine.

The Instituto Bernabeu team has been chosen to present 16 papers as oral communications and 13 in poster format, addressing a wide range of fertility-related topics. The experts will share their knowledge with the rest of professionals in order to benefit not only the medical community, but also patients.

In addition, during the congress, Dr Andrea Bernabeu, medical co-director of Instituto Bernabeu, will moderate a panel discussion on “ART safety and indicators” together with Dr Montserrat Boada, from the Hospital Universitari Dexeus in Barcelona. She will also participate as speaker in a session of the Scientific Committee on the challenges and opportunities offered by artificial intelligence in reproductive medicine.

On the other hand, Dr Jorge Ten, director of Instituto Bernabeu Group’s embryology laboratory, will also give a lecture on the sperm selection plate developed by Instituto Bernabeu, which received the innovation award in the 2023 ASEBIR congress. This plate uses granulosa cells to obtain spermatozoa with a low DNA fragmentation index.

Dr Belén Lledó, Instituto Bernabeu Biotech scientific director, will give a talk on the Empty Follicle Syndrome, a rare condition in which oocytes are not recovered in an IVF cycle despite the fact that follicular development appears to be normal. This can be a major obstacle for women seeking pregnancy through assisted reproduction techniques.

Finally, Dr Rosa María Daurelio, from Instituto Bernabeu Madrid, will also participate in the congress with a presentation on ovarian stimulation tailored to the patient’s needs.

The Spanish Fertility Society Congress brings together experts in reproductive medicine to share the latest scientific advances, techniques and treatments. Among the topics to be discussed by Instituto Bernabeu’s professionals will be ovarian stimulation, endometriosis, embryonic aneuploidy, oocyte vitrification and the role of artificial intelligence in reproductive medicine.
