The Rafael Bernabeu Foundation gives six university students a helping hand by granting 15,000 euros in scholarships

Within the framework of annual support given to university studies, the Rafael Bernabeu Social Welfare Foundation at Instituto Bernabeu has awarded scholarships to six Medicine and Nursing university students. The scholarships have a value of 2,500 euros each.  For the last four years, the Instituto Bernabeu Social Welfare Foundation has provided Medicine, Biology and Nursing students from all over Spain with support in order to continue with their studies and the official award ceremony was held yesterday in the auditorium. The reproductive medicine clinic’s social welfare work has awarded 15,000 euros to these young people in order to cover their registration fees and for purchasing material. The nature of the Rafael Bernabeu Foundation is social, educational, cultural and scientific and it supports research. In particular, it aims to support and help people with limited financial resources either in terms of gaining access to treatment or, as in this case, by awarding scholarships. At the award ceremony, Dr Rafael Bernabeu, the Foundation’s President, highlighted the students’ understanding of the value of hard work, their tenacity and their perseverance in spite of the difficulties they face.

The scholarships were handed over by Dr Bernabeu himself. The scholarships included five for Medicine students and one for a Nursing student.  Medicine students, Celia Pino Arcas (2nd year student at the Francisco Vitoria University in Madrid), Juan José Maya González (6th year student at the University of Salamanca), Asunción Ojeda Gómez (6th year student at the Miguel Hernández University), Elena Martínez Olivares (4th year student at the Miguel Hernández University), Inés Ortiz Romero (3rd year student at the Rovira y Virgili University) and Nursing student María Marco Martínez (2nd year student at the University of Alicante) were awarded the scholarships worth 2,500 euros. They all expressed their gratitude for the helping hand they had been given and considered it a reward for their hard work.
