Dr Ruth Morales
Degree in Pharmacy from the University of Valencia (2001). She completed her doctoral thesis at the Instituto de Neurociencias de Alicante (UMH-CSIC), in the area of stem cells and cell therapy.
After a specialist course in Reproductive Biology at the Miguel Hernández University, she joined the Bernabeu Institute in 2005, to take charge of the andrology and clinical analysis laboratory at the IB Elche and later IB Benidorm clinics.
In 2007 she joined the Molecular Biology and Genetics department at the IB, where she currently works. Her area of work focuses mainly on pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGT-M and PGT-A), carrier genetic testing, gene panels and clinical exome. She is currently coordinator of the Genetic and Reproductive Counselling department, providing genetic counselling to patients who require it.
She’s author and co-author of several scientific publications in international journals related to genetic aspects of Human Reproduction. Professor of the Master’s Degree in Reproductive Medicine at the University of Alicante and the Bernabeu Institute.
Her research activity is currently focused on chromosomal mosaicism in the embryo, and on the identification of genetic variants associated with familial ovarian failure, topics on which she has presented numerous communications at both national and international conferences.
