Frequent Asked Questions

What if my eggs are no longer valid, this is detected and freezing can therefore be avoided?

It’s very difficult to determine the egg quality before they are removed from the ovary. What can be achieved is an estimation of the approximate number of eggs which will be obtained and the chances that they will survive vitrification and thawing. This data can help us to determine if undergoing ovarian stimulation is worthwhile with a view to obtaining eggs for freezing.  Even so, following egg retrieval, they are evaluated in the in vitro fertilisation laboratory and only those eggs which are sufficiently mature will be considered valid for vitrification. The eggs which are not suitable for vitrification will not be valid for future assisted reproduction treatments either and will be discarded.
