Dr Ana Fuentes talks on Información TV about late motherhood and the options to achieve pregnancy

Dr Ana Fuentes, gynaecologist specialising in reproductive medicine and Low Ovarian Reserve Unit Coordinator at Instituto Bernabeu, participated in the programme “La línea Roja” on Información TV together with Mª José Barquero, patient at Instituto Bernabeu and psychologist specialising in fertility, and Montse Angulo Perea, member of the Spanish Association of Midwives, president of the Official Association of Nurses of Alicante and member of the General Council of Nurses.

The aim was to analyse the profile of Alicante mothers and how it has changed over time. Dr Fuentes explained that “we find more and more women over 35 years of age who come to Instituto Bernabeu because they have problems conceiving and the only cause of infertility we find is their age”, so she insisted on the convenience of oocyte preservation in case you want to extend motherhood. Along these lines, she stressed that “we have always been educated to avoid unwanted pregnancies, but we have never been told about the consequences of delaying motherhood”.
