Dr Rafael Bernabeu, named honorary member of the Spanish Society of Gynaecology and Obstetrics (SEGO)

Instituto Bernabeu director, Dr Rafael Bernabeu, has been distinguished with one of the most renowned merits as a gynaecologist, in recognition of his work as a pioneer in the field of Spanish Reproductive Medicine.
The Official Act of Appointment of Honorary Members SEGO 2024, took place last March and coincided with the inauguration of its new president, Dr Pere Brescó i Torras and his Executive Board, who stressed that “this representative distinction is awarded to those colleagues who deserve this recognition for their entire professional career and a lifetime dedicated to gynaecology”.
Proposed by the President of the Section of Sterility and Infertility of the Spanish Society of Gynaecology (SEISEGO), Dr Luis Rodriguez Tavernero, who highlighted Dr Bernabeu’s “professional career as one of the precursors of assisted reproduction in our country”. This makes him worthy of this distinction for his outstanding medical career dedicated to research and to his patients; outstanding scientific milestones and advances in the knowledge of fertility.
