Instituto Bernabeu AI Unit director, Dr Jordi Suñol, analyses the different studies on artificial intelligence presented at the ESHRE 2023.

Dr Jordi Suñol, gynaecologist specialist in reproductive medicine, medical coordinator at IB Palma de Mallorca and coordinator of Instituto Bernabeu Group International AI Unit applied to Reproductive Medicine, participated this Wednesday 12th July as a speaker in the Post ESHRE 2023 Conference, organized by Ferring Laboratories.

With the aim of updating and spreading the scientific information transmitted at the congress, recently held in Copenhagen, among professionals specialised in gynaecology in the Balearic Islands, the conference dedicated a special section to Artificial Intelligence applied to Reproductive Medicine, where Dr Suñol shared the most relevant conclusions from the more than 40 research studies about AI presented at the congress.

The expert stresses that “the future looks very promising as technology and advances in AI are being integrated into different areas of reproductive medicine and will allow us to analyse a large volume of data and make accurate decisions that will improve our treatments success rates”. However, he is cautious about the immediacy of implementing certain technological solutions that have not been scientifically tested. “It is very important to scientifically validate the vast amount of technology available to us. The work of medical and laboratory professionals is irreplaceable. We have to be cautious and wait for scientific results to support any clinical application of a new tool”.   Furthermore, the doctor also participated as a speaker to talk about microbiome and reproduction and about the studies and clinical application carried out with Rekovelle, a specific drug for ovarian stimulation from Ferring Laboratories.
