The manager of the Instituto Bernabeu Emotional Support Unit, psychologist Natalia Romera, has been appointed by the Spanish Fertility Society (SEF) as a member of the nursing interest group dedicated to gamete donation. This new responsibility is in turn related with another of her activities at the clinic, where she is also coordinator of the Egg Donation Unit. One of the tasks that this specialist undertakes as manager of this unit is assisting patients receiving gamete donation, carried out through informative sessions.
The psychologist has highlighted that “for me it is an honour to belong to the donation group of the SEF, because after 17 years fully dedicated to donation at Instituto Bernabeu, it allows me to share knowledge and to work shoulder to shoulder with a large group of dedicated professionals in the same field. I believe that the contribution of the work group will generate very positive synergies for my professional development and the work I carry out at Instituto Bernabeu.”
On the implications of this post on her daily activity, Natalia Romera explains that “working with the SEF allows me to have immediate access to up to date information on any modification, recommendation or improvement in all phases of the donation process. At the same time, I hope to contribute with regard to psychological evaluation, which is my main area of interest, due to my training as a healthcare psychologist.”
