What chances do I have to still have embryos for freezing after an In Vitro Fertilisation treatment?

Not every embryo resulting from an IVF treatment is necessarily good to be frozen. Only those embryos that have a good quality according to a number of morphological criteria can be frozen for a successful outcome to be guaranteed. It should be underlined that this is a very stressful process for embryos and, as a consequence, those of optimal quality are more likely to survive. The availability of embryos depends on factors like mother’s age, the causes of infertility or sperm quality. In the case of groups with good prognosis, such as donor egg recipients, approximately 50% of patients decide to freeze their embryos.
