Dr. Leyre Herrero
Leyre graduated from the Autonomous University of Madrid with a degree in Biological Sciences in 2004 and has worked in the field of clinical embryology since 2005. She obtained the title of Expert in Clinical Genetics from the Alcalá de Henares University in 2008. In 2012, she completed a University of Valencia Master’s Course in Assisted Reproduction Biotechnology and, in the same year, was awarded the ESHRE (European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology) title of Senior Embryologist. She presented her doctoral thesis at the Department of Global Women’s Health, King Juan Carlos University, Madrid, in 2015.
She is a member of the Spanish Association for the Study of Biology and Human Reproduction (ASEBIR) and the Spanish Fertility Society (SEF). During the time she has worked in the field of embryology and in the laboratory, she has also participated in several research projects and congresses, has written a number of articles for national and international scientific journals and has coordinated training courses on different areas of embryology.
Leyre currently works in the laboratories at Instituto Bernabeu in Madrid. Her particular areas of interest include implantation failure, pre-implantation genetic diagnosis and gamete and embryo cryopreservation in the in vitro laboratory.
