How are sperm samples or donor eggs selected for given couples?

In order to select a sperm sample for a given couple, Spanish law suggests that the donor should be compatible with the recipient mother’s phenotype. Therefore, at Instituto Bernabéu we take into consideration race, eye and skin colour, hair colour and hair type, height and weight, as well as blood type.
