Dr Paolo Cirillo participates as moderator in a symposium on ovarian stimulation

Dr Paolo Cirillo, gynaecologist specialised in reproductive medicine at Instituto Bernabeu, participated as a moderator in a symposium on human menopausal gonadotropin (hMG), a hormone used for ovarian stimulation in fertility treatments. The event, held in Valencia, brought together leading experts in the field and was attended by Professor Claus Andersen and Dr Ernesto Bosch.

At the conference, Professor Claus Andersen gave a presentation on the regulation of human ovarian steroidogenesis. Dr Ernesto Bosch discussed hMG stimulation, highlighting the advances and benefits of this type of treatment in reproductive medicine.

Human menopausal gonadotropin (hMG) contains a combination of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinising hormone (LH), which are essential for the development and maturation of ovarian follicles. hMG is commonly used in in vitro fertilisation (IVF) cycles and other assisted reproductive techniques to promote the growth of multiple follicles and increase the chances of successful conception.

In his speech, Dr Cirillo stressed that «hMG is another tool that can help us in ovarian stimulation, as its LH effect helps to synchronise follicle development, sometimes improving the number of eggs available for fertilisation. This is especially beneficial in patients with low ovarian response or in previous unsuccessful IVF cycles».
