The Rafael Bernabeu Social Welfare Foundation has awarded 10,000 euros to four Medicine and Biotechnology students who have limited financial resources

The Rafael Bernabeu Social Welfare Foundation has published the results of the 2018-2019 scholarships awards. The scholarships provide Medicine, Nursing, Biology and Biotechnology students in Spain with financial support in order boost their studies. On this occasion, further to assessment of all the applications that were received, the Awards Committee chose to award four students the scholarships worth a total of 10,000 euros. Two of the successful applicants are Medicine students. One of them is in the sixth year at the Autonomous University of Barcelona whilst the other has completed the third year at the University of Castilla La Mancha (UCLM), Albacete Faculty. The remaining two are first-year biotechnology students at Miguel Hernández University (UMH). Each student will be awarded a cheque for 2,500 euros which may be used to pay registration fees and other associated costs.
The financial support is awarded to university students with a good academic track record and a limited income which, on occasions, means they are unable to continue with their studies. The scholarships will be presented on Thursday 24th October in a ceremony in the Instituto Bernabeu auditorium.
The nature of the Rafael Bernabeu Social Welfare Foundation is social, educational, cultural and scientific. It also promotes research. Its work includes supporting and helping people with limited financial resources to access reproductive medicine treatment, and awarding scholarships. It also organises training courses and has collaboration agreements with academic and medical institutions which seek to promote biomedical research.
