Dr Carlos Alvarado gives a talk on reproductive medicine in Cartagena

Last Monday, Dr. Carlos Alvarado, coordinator of Instituto Bernabeu Cartagena, gave a talk at the Cartagena Oeste Health Center on “Maternity delay and oocyte cryopreservation”. The meeting, organized by the health center, was attended by about fifteen people.

In this talk, Dr Alvarado addressed key issues on fertility preservation and clarified some myths related to this topic, such as the concern as to whether ovarian stimulation can deplete the egg reserve or the belief that late childbearing is always viable without difficulties. He also explained in detail the process of oocyte cryopreservation and the future possibilities for those who opt for this technique.

The attendees also had the opportunity to ask questions about other topics related to reproductive health, such as polycystic ovarian syndrome, endometriosis, amenorrhea, and even the ROPA method for female couples.
